Project Overview

This study examines the relationship between people’s perceptions of park uses during COVID-19 pandemic, and how built environment and socioeconomic characteristics affect these perceptions in cities in Arizona. Research outcomes include an online interactive vulnerability index map/toolkit that helps identify gaps and assists decision-making, as well as a handbook that summarizes park design strategies and best practices. Using big data analytics, we will compare park uses and perceptions before and after Arizona Governor Ducey’s stay-at-home order.
