Project Overview
1663 W. King Ave. (scoria wall construction) Funded by Pima County IDA Loan; designed and constructed by the CAPLA students and faculty. Completed, May 2017. The total cost for the residence (including general conditions, warranties, loan interest, and escrow was $110,000. City of Tucson down payment assistance reduced the mortgage cost to $98,000. Purchased by the Maria Davila-Lopez family. This is a built residence for low-income family with 2 peer-reviewed conference papers, 1 journal article and received 2 design awards.
