Project Overview
606 S. Starr Ave. (wood frame with ventilated south wall). An affordable dwelling funded by a City of Tucson IDA Loan, Civano Demonstration Grant, and Pima County GO Bonds; designed and constructed by the CAPLA students and faculty. Completed in 2008; Construction costs for this residence came to $79,978. The total cost for the residence (including general conditions, warranties, loan interest, and escrow was $103,000. City of Tucson down payment assistance reduced the mortgage cost to $90,761. Purchased by the Eric Wagner-Diane Daly family. This is a built residence for a low-income family, which resulted in 2 peer-reviewed conference papers, 1 journal article, 2 design awards.
